- Federal prosecutors have begun a criminal investigation of opioid makers. Companies including Teva, McKesson, Mallinckrodt, AmerisourceBergen, Johnson & Johnson and Amneal Pharmaceuticals have received subpoenas. (Wall Street Journal)
- Amazon has rolled out medication reminders for its voice assistant Alexa. Amazon partnered with pharmacy chain Giant Eagle on the effort. Any person with a prescription can use the skill for reminders to take their medication. (CNBC)
- The District of Columbia is suing Juul for targeting teens. The DC case joins similar lawsuits from North Carolina, New York and California that claim the company is responsible for the teen vaping crisis. (Associated Press)
- More research has pointed to vitamin E acetate as the cause of the vaping lung illness. Researchers found the additive in many patient’s vaping liquid and noticed that it was present in newer cartridges, but not older samples. (Associated Press)
